TATTOO CHECKLIST

PREP FOR THE DAY OF YOUR APPOINTMENT

1. GET A GOOD NIGHT'S SLEEP

Achieiving a restful night's sleep prior to your appointment will faciliate relaxation. A lack of sleep may heighten your sensitivity to pain.

2. DRINK A LOT OF WATER

Stay well hydrated before your tattoo appointment to ensure better ink absorption and quicker healing. Also, try to avoid caffeinated drinks like coffee and energy drinks, as they can cause dehydration and jitters.

3. WEAR COMFY CLOTHING

Wear loose-fitting garments for easy access to the tattoo area, and prioritise comfort, as you'll be stationary for a while. Choose clothing that you don't mind staining, as the tattoo process can cause bleeding and may involve oil-based products that are hard to clean.

4. EAT A GOOD MEAL 2-4 HOURS PRIOR

It's best to eat a balanced meal before your appointment to avoid lightheadedness. Bring snacks and a big bottle of water, especially for lengthy tattoo sessions.

5. BRING A FORM OF ID FOR YOUR CONSENT FORM SUBMISSION

I am legally required to obtain photo identification, such as a passport or drivers license. If I cannot confirm you're over 18, then I cannot tattoo you.

6. AVOID ALCOHOL THE DAY BEFORE AND THE DAY OF

This reminder is crucial, as drinking can lead to health risks, excessive bleeding, and faded ink.

7. AVOID DIRECT SUNLIGHT TO AVOID SUNBURN

Getting a tattoo on sunburned skin is uncomfortable and can delay healing. Tanning can also dry out the skin, harming both your skin and the tattoo.

8. SHOWER THE DAY BEFORE YOUR APPOINTMENT

Maintain cleanliness in the area for your upcoming tattoo before your appointment. Your skin collects dead skin cells, sweat, and dirt throughout the day, and not showering increases the risk of infection.

9. PLEASE COME ALONE TO YOUR APPOINTMENT

Please come alone to your appointment as there is not a lot of room in my studio for more than 2 people at a time.
