Alex will apply a thin layer of ointment over the top of your new tattoo and cover you with a plastic wrap. This will protect from getting irritated and rubbing onto any clothes.

washing & protecting
your tattoo

Always wash your hands before touching your tattoo.

Remove the plastic wrap withing 1-2 hours after getting your tattoo. Please do not re-wrap your tattoo as it needs to breathe like an open wound.

Wash your tattoo with warm fragrance-free anti-bacterial soapy water using your palm/fingertips and rinse 3-5 times until it doesn't feel slippery.

Pat the tattoo gently with a clean, dry fresh paper towel. Do not rub, or use a fabric with a rough surface.

Don't apply any moisturisers until the tattoo starts to peel/flake - if applied too quickly the skin can break and won't accelerate the healing process.

Step 3.png

the healing process of your tattoo

Make sure your hands are clean before washing or moisturising your tattoo.

In 3-4 days you will start to see a peeling effect form over your skin. This is normal, do not pick the skin.

Once you see this, apply a thin layer of fragrance free cocao butter. (less is more
)

Please DO NOT use products such as Bepanthen, E45 or any fragrance included moisturisers.

In 5-6 days keep gently cleaning and applying the cocao butter cream to the tattoo.

In 7-10 days the scabs will have flaked off the skin. Please DO NOT pick or pull the scabs off the tattoo, let them fall off naturally. If any sections of the tattoo look dull and dry, keep moisturising the area until hydrated again.

By days 15-30 the ink layer would have fully peeled off. You might see some dead skin sections around the tattoo, but just keep moisturising until the skin looks hydrated again.

When there is no longer any dead skin sections you can go back to swimming, exercising and wearing tighter clothing. If you're exposed to the sun for long periods, apply sun lotion to protect your tattoo from fading.
